Or just use a wooden spoon upside-down?

> Surprised at how many comments here seem eager to praise Waymo based off their PR statement.

Really? My impression is that, for the most part, HN consistently sides with the companies. I say this in the most neutral way possible.

>It's not a joke subreddit.

Spend a day on Reddit and you'll quickly realize many subreddits are just filled with lies.

Any sub that is based on storytelling or reposting memes, videos etc. are karma farms and lies.

Most subs that are based on politics or current events are at best biased, at worst completely astroturf.

The only subs that I think still have mostly legit users are municipal subs (which still get targeted by bots when anything political comes up) and hobby subs where people show their works or discuss things.

Yeah I also like the sound of people getting their lives ruined, especially when it makes a company leaner and more profitable.

Laundry and dishwashing are completely different though?

Recent dishwashers can open by themselves and dry the dishes, washing machines need a (awaken) human to remove the wet clothes when they finish their cycle.

The page should focus on the bugs, since there's no shortage of them. But clicking on "Change payment method" to change payment method is not a bug, is just bad UI.

> This pile of words is missing a verb.

And yet is completely understandable.

And also entirely ironic.

> Repetition and redundancy, ambiguity, illogical ordering of content, rambling sentences, opaque grammar.

Repetition AND redundancy?

Illogical ordering in an unordered list of things.

Rambling (could be more items or less).

What's the grammar of a sentence like this? Diagramming it would be a challenge. I'd call that opaque.

Maybe I’m too old, but if Apple fixed every single bug and added absolutely zero features until the day of my death, I would still be a satisfied customer.

The problem is not lack of innovation, the problem is that everything barely works.

There are obvious exceptions, like for example updating certificates, but otherwise I’m with you. Or I was, for many years, until the release of Liquid Glass. Now fixing bugs is no longer enough, the OS has become an abomination. I’ll avoid “upgrading” for as long as possible, then I’ll probably have to abandon Apple platforms forever.

Doing your job and doing your job well are two different things, of course. The innovation is going to have to be in how to return to the latter when they’ve lost their way. Or, perhaps more accurately, been led astray by conflicting priorities.

They’ve done it recently with their hardware. Past time for the other side of the house to refocus.

I'm still waiting on the iphone to get the macbook pro treatment: a return to thickness, more ports, and of course touchID.

> authoritarian system making massive mistakes

Compared to the US democracy?

Yes - so far.

I'm sure dark patterns count as innovation for them.
