Ask HN: How to scale things and launch many products at the same time?

As a developer/entrepreneur, I know that focus is essential, so I always work on one idea/project at a time and put 100% effort on it. As a result, however, I always have more ideas than I can handle. Many are promising and commercially viable in my opinion, and it leaves me with the feeling that there might be a model to scale things up and tackle several of those ideas at the same time.

One company that seems to be doing this is Rocket Internet. As far as I understand they identify new and promising businesses (usually in the US) and then replicate those ventures in other, developing countries. For each venture they recruit a talented person (usually from top business schools) to be the CEO and run things for them.

Question 1: Do you guys think this model could work at a smaller scale (i.e., I would be Rocket Internet, finding other people to manage my projects), or should I keep focusing on one idea at a time?

Question 2: If you believe it could work, how would you structure it?

One option I am considering is to identify talented programmers that are getting out of university, and convince them to partner with me to execute my ideas instead of going to Google/Facebook/etc. My plan is to offer something like 70% equity of the project plus a guaranteed salary (say $3k monthly) for the first 12 months. The person would be the CEO and thus be responsible for everything. I would just act as an advisor. Could this work?
