Article seems to call for passively accepting the status quo until one is an associate professor, at a minimum. That’s a long time to wait, a lot of dues to pay. You can’t point out the naked emperors unless you wear a crown yourself. If you can’t be a frustrated idealist in grad school, when can you be?
