Salesforce's "no software" slogan dates back to a time when software was sold in boxes on store shelves. They were one of the first (possibly the first) cloud-based business app. The slogan only looks weird in hindsight because the term "software" now includes SaaS apps.
But it worked for Salesforce, which is a software company whose slogan is "no software".
