Codon: A high-performance Python implementation that compiles to native (github.com/exaloop)

Spent an hour or so playing around with various Python interpreters/compilers and I have to say I was a bit disappointed by Codon. It defonetly has potential, but the compiled binary ended up being slower than CPython?

In any case Numba worked ootb for me with the best results! My usecase was fairly heavy in numpy usage though (brute Biot-Savart field integration)

Not sure if I understand the license correctly, this is only for non-commercial (it reads "non-production") work, and otherwise requires a paid license?
