Ask HN: How do you find quality blogs these days?

How do you folks find quality personal blogs? These days, the only sites that pop in the search results are ad-driven rubbish publications with ever-popping windows with more ads. I'm getting really annoyed that I can't find a quality blog that is not full of AI content. I am interested in personal finance, self-improvement, and project management.

Give up on the first two topics. Those are spam, even when they aren't spam. Even respected writers in personal finance such as

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suze_Orman

come under serious criticism: for instance she was involved with a scammy debit card but more generally gets accused of prioritizing the interests of the financial industry over the interests of its customers.

For project management consider joining

https://www.pmi.org/

and getting involved in your local chapter.

All three of the areas mentioned are so spammy and spam-adjacent that it made me curious if this whole post is just to tee-up a friendly recommendation.

OP's post history (8 comments but hundreds (thousands?) of submissions from their own domain) doesn't do much to dissuade me of that notion.

Word of mouth. Chatting with people in my socials, their recommendations/reads, and... blogrolls appear to be making a minor comeback. We're all drowning in the LLM shit, so the only thing we can rely on is each other.

I follow marginal revolution, astral codex ten, rob k henderson, and a number of others who put out links roundups. Those links roundups are very good and useful.

A number of useful blogs show up on HN as well.

Lots of good writers on X.
