I have to wonder about this organization's ideological slant - looking at https://californiaglobe.com/about-us/, they describe themselves as "pro-growth and pro-business", so I think maybe the environment is not their true concern here.
Obviously the "environmental disaster" taking place as a result of the dam removal is a short term event, while the river resumes its natural course, ending the decades-long environmental disaster which had been imposed by the dam's presence. The river will heal and the fish will return; we've seen this clearly with the Elwha River restoration here in Washington State.
