And iPads get about 5 years of major version updates.

The 600€ high end Samsung will maybe get one Android OS update.

This is FUD. Samsung promise 5 years of security updates and 4 OS updates:

It's not FUD. Apple has _delivered_ updates for multiple generations of devices for 5+ years.

Samsung has promised to update for 4 OS versions. They haven't delivered anything yet. We'll see in 2027 if they can actually deliver.

Casting fear, uncertainty and doubt over a manufacturers claims is literally what FUD stands for. And that's what you're doing.

I had Samsung s9+ in 2018 and I did have monthly security upgrades up until 2022 when I had it. Their promise was 5 years of security upgrades.

I also had the latest Android version. iirc they promised 3 years of OS upgrades

This topic will probably resolve itself from 2025 on when the EU will start requiring 5 years of software updates.
