A charging dock is such a simple thing, but it effectively makes the device a hybrid tablet/nest-home-hub. It also gives the tablet a definitive place to be at rest that still provides value when not in use. The price being reasonable is a huge plus as well.

I found this interesting: comparable iPad model includes a stylus, while the Pixel Tablet comes with a speaker-dock.

Personally I think the hands-optional "home console" angle is more compelling than the "digital paper" angle when it comes to tablets.
