Thats an interesting writeup. Among other things, it made me consider reciprocity more than before.

Maybe the presence of a response should be reciprocal, but the response itself doesn't have to be? A heavily coerced sale to an American company does seem like a more "American" response than an outright ban.

And there are theoretically other options, like making life extremely uncomfortable for Chinese-supervised Tiktok in the US by, say, excluding them from section 230 or hamstringing them in some other way.
