If you take a closer subjective inspection of the corrected palette you will notice that the luminance adjustments makes typical day colors bright and typical night colors dark. It looks like day and night adjusted now. Due to the color diffraction of our atmosphere when the sun is low the colors get filtered and the light gets lower and this new palette is a better representation of that daily change.
