Chess Grandmaster Maxim Dlugy Admitted to Cheating (vice.com)

Really classy how chess.com promises privacy and then (according to vice.com) leaks mails.

The whole Carlsen/Niemann affair is tainted by their involvement. You can't just buy the Play Magnus Group and then protect your new asset (Carlsen) by dragging up dossiers, J. Edgar Hoover style.

I'm saying this as someone who is sympathetic to Carlsen's withdrawals.

Yes this really stinks of a sleazy PR move.

>The emails, which were provided to Motherboard by Chess.com …

>Rensch goes on to tell Dlugy that “any confessions or full acknowledgement by you would remain private,” …

That part stinks a bit, but this information deserves to be shared in my opinion.

It probably should have been made public in the first place, now it's tainted by conflicts of interest...
