Definitely worth it. I love to write about geeky stuff, and that alone makes it worthwhile for me. It’s also allowed me to make some money writing for a couple of corporate blogs simply because their marketing people learned about me through some of my content.

BTW, as a long-time Hugo user: I hear you. If one doesn’t have the time to tinker with it, things can get nasty in a hurry. (Same is true for most if not all other static site generators, to be fair.)
