Good news is it’s pretty cheap to test!! Recently had some questionable ceiling tiles in my house. $35 test kit from amazon for a box with a label, pop in a sample, mail off, and in 10 days confirmed my tiles did not have any. If they had, would have hired someone to remove it and get it out of my house…


Current best practice is to only remove if it can’t be encapsulated.


They say that, but I would 100% of removed mine. Why leave a time bomb in your house? Spend the effort / money and fix it for real.


Because removing it introduces more chance to introduce it into the air than encapsulating it? Tiles don’t come up easy and insulation doesn’t pull off cleanly.
