It’s a common English idiom, and like “raining cats and dogs,” the meaning of the phrase doesn’t correspond literally to the words. The parent comment isn’t actually joking about committing murder.

As someone whose only internet options for a few years were satellite and WISP that cost several hundred dollars for 8 Mbps down, I understand where they’re coming from :)

Who says they’re joking. They didn’t say they’d kill a human. Maybe they’d kill a goat.


It seems to work for aircraft maintenance.
