If you used Go in the very earliest days, you'll recognise pieces of its toolchain in Plan 9.


Years back, I tweaked the Plan 9 kernel source so it could compile with Go's C toolchain. After a day or two it was booting, but we decided not to use it... I think the end conclusion was that the Go team was (reasonably) only interested in maintaining the compilers for building Go, and that they could at any time make changes that would break our builds.
