People who avoid ads aren't even considered a target audience. They exercise too much critical thinking for advertisers who want to grab people by the feels and get them to buy their product for a dopamine rush.
Thanks for the added perspective, you're definitely correct. Measuring penetration is a big deal for price setting ad space. Even still, it doesn't seem to push Google to include their Ad ID system in AOSP instead of the Play Store. They could have forced ROM developers to go digging for the API to remove it.

My blog is brand new, but will be used to document my journey in software and cybersecurity. While that will be the focus of the blog, I also plan to write some fluffier pieces to fill in and keep my writing skills sharp. Fluffy posts will still be industry angled.
Though I don't have the common room experience that you had, I too regularly wake before my alarm goes off with more than enough time to turn it off.
The answer isn't that I have a clock in my brain, but rather that waking phases occur regularly during sleep. I start to wake up, think "what time is it?" and check my phone. If it's within 30 minutes of my alarm, I just turn my alarm off and get up.
For what it's worth, I have the same experience as you. I wake up, once, maybe a minute before the alarm is supposed to go off. And I'm immediately clearly awake, not groggy, not sleepy, no gradual slow awakening.
These boutique type phones are cute, but they really only serve as a bell-weather on how much consumers are interested in privacy-enabled or unGoogled mobile devices. Between either having to wait 6 months, or pay $2k USD you're I find it unlikely that Librem/Purism will make turn the consumer market toward privacy/security.
Is choose the privacy/security focused phone if they were as good as a mid range android. They're not even close to that but hopefully they'll catch up soon. Can't see Librem or Purism being the ones to do it though tbh
You also literally linked a cease and desist letter from our lawyers telling another member of your group to stop this kind of crap.
