Why would they even need an genAI? Grindr isn't even a dating site, it's a hookup site. A few if statements would do it.

I'm a bit shocked the EU allowed them away with this.

Than you haven't been watching the EU enough. They are currently working on MULTIPLE different omnibus laws that will make owning an Google or Apple Approved Phone, running Google or Apple Approved Firmware and using the Google or Apple App store de-facto mandatory for living in the EU.

You vill download ze app and you vill accept the TOS.

What you are presenting is all opt-in.

Governments would mandate age requirements for many websites and these websites would be forced to check EU digital identity wallet.

It always begins that way to squash criticism.

For now

How can this possibly be legal? If it truly is, the EU needs to get on it immediately.

I'm convinced they won't, they are just slow to react.

What about this do you think contradicts EU law?

The EU is remarkably laissez faire about a lot of things in the market.

Casio watches never looked as cheap as this watch does. Going with light grey plastic was a mistake, makes it look like a cheap prop of a metallic object.

> Casio watches never looked as cheap as this watch does.

Casio's a dedicated watch company. Even in their earliest iterations, they were less limited. From the site [1], this appears to be one person's project.

I wonder if it's less the colour than the sheen of that specific type of plastic. Casio has some great looking fake-metal. In the end, cheap plastic will probably end up looking like what it is.

You could probably find more convincing metal spray pain in your nearest hardware supply store. But you also don't need to choose a metal look if you can't pull it off. Even when going for a retro computer look, those didn't usually have exposed metal on the outside anyway.

Surely you can download the extension from a mirror and install it manually(ie the "old fashioned way")?

Not legally.

The first layoff is always the worst. You'll treat future gigs as transactional and be better for it. The younger you're laid off the sooner you'll learn this.

You forget over time, and obligations grow.

My first layoff was rough. It was in '00 and I was 21, so I didn't have too many obligations.

My second layoff was in '23 and I was 44 with kids and a mortgage. It hit me a lot harder.

My third was in '24, but I had learned my lessons and had positioned myself better, so I wasn't as badly affected.

I'm so grateful I was laid off just 2 years into my first software gig out of school. I graduated, worked my ass off at a startup, and theeeen covid! It hurt but that was a permanent wisdom upgrade.

No explanation of what Bevy is?

North Korea says their excellent Human rights is reason for low emigration rate.

I think you mean thirty years, 2004 was almost web 2.0.

Fond memories. Look up also Crimson Editor from the same period, great editor.

I love SciTE but it feels like a technical demo compared to Npp.
