It's going to be an HR and lawsuit issue in the future. There is a reason in the USA we don't have head shots on our resume.

Ah I wouldn't worry about it. The courts don't accept statistical evidence of discrimination, the rejected applicant would actually need to prove discrimination on an individual basis. Source - https://www.culawreview.org/journal/what-constitutes-discrim...

You are going to get into the same debate had decades ago about hard drive size. Base 2 for techs vs base 10 for average consumers.

I have no sympathy for someone with 24 properties with only 4 taking rental assistance. If he is hurting it is b/c he took out loans to get multiple houses and does not own them out right. He is part of the problem affecting many americans that are trying to get their first home.

Also somewhat related. The courts in Canada ruled the native population had a right to "subsistence"(or some other key word)fishing b/c of treaties. This meant the natives could crab or maybe it was lobster out of season. The white local fishing fleets have been very violent with the police just standing around and letting it happen. Plenty of video multiple confrontations and illegal acts of white on native crime and violence.

I see you put the twit in twitter.

Why is that. I don't want my tax dollars going to welfare for their workers. I have skin in that game.

Why would governments magically stop subsidizing Amazon if their workers unionized?

There are plenty of reasons to support unions, but this sort of corporate welfare could be eliminated by increasing the minimum wage.

Paying people minimum wage is "corporate welfare"? How so?

Because the alternative is the taxpayer winds up paying for those workers’ healthcare, food and housing (Medicaid, SNAP and Section 8 vouchers).

You're forgetting the alternative where the person ends up getting unemployed instead, in which case the taxpayer pays 100% for those workers’ healthcare, food and housing.

It isn't a binary, the question is the right representation as much as anything else.

What type of person puts words in someone else's mouth? Nothing you say seems to have any basis in reality.

The only reason I like this idea is that we know a certain political segment of society would of been killed off by dumb decisions in this area via hydroxychloroquine.

No, it did not.

Please explain how you think the link you provided backs your opinion. Give me your analysis of the data presented. Let me know you actually understand it.

This is one paper on one hospital and only looking at data after the fact.

Across the USA if you were hospitalized more than 10 days you had a much higher chance of survival. It did not depend on any medication given. That is a stat that runs across the board. This study only includes patients that were given a treatment AFTER 10 days of hospitalization. Most of those that were going to die did so before this study would show they would of been treated.

Here's a more clear paper for you about HCQ.

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7534595/#:~:tex....

"HCQ was found to be consistently effective against COVID-19 when provided early in the outpatient setting. It was also found to be overall effective in inpatient studies. No unbiased study found worse outcomes with HCQ use. No mortality or serious safety adverse events were found."

Also the articles that claimed it DIDN'T work were retracted because the authors of the articles couldn't prove their data.

https://www.the-scientist.com/features/the-surgisphere-scand...

https://www.thelancet.com/journals/lancet/article/PIIS0140-6...

Don't let your politics override fact.

Furthermore HCQ advocates would reject this study because they want it tested with zinc as a prophylaxis before things get bad enough to send you to hospital

What specifically do you not buy? Parallel construction is a thing b/c the usa does it so much.

I think parent poster edited his comment.

Yes, its a feature not a bug.
