All these "have died"[1] and yet Claude the alligator "passed away". RIP.

But if you'd like to see a sample of _Old_ Farmer's Almanac, their 2026 issue could be accessed here: https://reader.mediawiremobile.com/TheOldFarmersAlmanac/issu...

I always enjoy reading through those tabulated stuff; see pp. 280-281.

> At a 2017 conference, MBS illustrated his vision for Neom by comparing two phones. [...] a Nokia 215 phone next to a traditional city layout and an iPhone next to The Line’s vertical layout.

I think there is a lot to be learned just from this single vignette.

The guy bone saws journalists for fun, he’s definitely not playing with a full deck

Same deck as all of us, most likely, if raised from conception with absolutely no knowledge of limits or consequence.

Not to be confused with Old Farmer's Almanac (est. 1792) and yet sad to see a 200 years old periodical closing up shop.

They appear experienced at navigating this confusion

Damn, I would expect at least a word of courtesy towards a fellow multicentennial publication.

Saying "after an incredible 200+ year run." seems enough chivalrous for me.

We all know they're popping the champagne

This is the one my mind went to, mostly because that cover is so familiar. Granted, I never invested much time in either but was always glad they existed.

wow thanks for leaving this comment - i now realize two things:

1. the farmer's almanac i thought of when i saw the title and even read the article is not going anywhere 2. i have never before heard of the farmer's almanac referred to in this notice

the old farmers almanac is the one people are probably more familiar with

Does this mean they can now rename the Old Farmer's Almanac to the Farmer's Almanac?

Wow, I had never heard of that new one until today! Was worried for a bit.

Harper's Index [1]:

> Number of times the Wikipedia entry about the ship of Theseus has been edited since it was published in 2003 : 2,052

> Number of sentences from the original entry that remain today : 0

```It's just a feeling I get when I think about it.<|beginofsentence|>```
Definitely not human; the bug is though.
Good catch! Tried to handle stop sequences but this slipped.
Ditto about the quality of intro. One way to show that "meat" without sharing some arbitrary number of chapters could have been to also include some of the back matter of the book (index, bibliography, etc.) in the sample. For example, I'm reading this:
> If coding really is like sorcery, what does this mean for how we think about computers?
and wondering whether Abelson/Sussman sort of wizardry makes an appearance or not.
On desktop on 133% at the moment. Can tolerate 120%, but the default is too small of a text size for me.
Thanks for your volunteer work for Standard Ebooks!
