So, hypothetically, if I were to say that the Israeli government is committing genocide and Trump is a fascist, would they not let me in? Well, I don't want to travel to the US while it's reigned by a fascist government anyways, so let's go: The Israeli government is committing genocide and Trump is a fascist.
Censorship is exactly what this is. If the fine is paid or not Europe will still be filed with online scams. This is almost defamatory as to suggest that Europeans were defrauded by blue check marks while making no claim evidence or suggestion of injury. (no damages). In scientific terms it's confirmation bias
This is always the same age-old discussion: Can you separate the art from the arists? And unsurprisingly, different people have different views on it. Even if you disagree, you should be able to understand why people don't want to use a product if their usage of that product makes the owner and CEO more powerful (and they think them being more powerful is a bad thing for humanity).
Edit to add a simple example:
Musk's wealth is mostly tied up in Tesla -> You think Musk uses his wealth to wield political power, political power that makes the world a worse place -> You still think Teslas are good cars -> Even though you think that, you don't want to spend your money on buying a Tesla, because this will make Musk more wealthly -> Start at the beginning
This is true, but it started way earlier than AI with software development though. A lot of software developers' job is just being ticket monkies, adding small things or fixing bugs for a huge company that nobody cares about. The alienation is real.
This is, of course, an attribute of capitalism.
Like carpenters, gardeners and farmers, there are very few software developers who truly have the luxury to treat their work as a craft and not a factory output.
How beautifully put, and I couldn't agree more. I feel exactly the same way.
However, I am still unconvinced that software development will go down this way. But if woking as a software developer will require managing multiple agents at the same time instead of crafting your own code — you can count me out, too.
