Hi I've been working on a drag and drop web builder for developers. Think of it like a version of Webflow that can sync directly with your code. You can try it at https://dragondrop.app/. It's still currently very much a work in progress. Let me know what you think.

Unrelated, but me and a bunch of very young friends from scratch.mit.edu tried to make a website builder called dragondrop: https://github.com/dragon-drop-scratch We were really young I think, aged maybe 11-14, no idea what we were doing

Love it! This is a brilliant example of how removing choice actually make the product so much better. If this was an app on a Apple TV I would actually use it

> This is what's behind the paradox where a good dev working alone or maybe with one very like minded person can produce a level of productivity you can't match again as you add developers, till you have way more developers. The dip represents the loss due to having to communicate a common understanding of the codebase, that doesn't get adequately compensated for till you've added a lot more people.

Wow I couldn't agree more with this point. You put it perfectly. I worked alone and later with one other developer on a project and it felt way more productive than my current team of 5 developers!

Despite your negative tone, I think you have a point. There are many project like this. I'm working on another one at the moment and I have compiled a long list of similar projects. There is definitely a need for a tool that can create UIs visually. IMO such a tool needs to have interoperability with code, as in changes to the code reflect in the tool and changes in the tool make reflect back in the code.

We haven't succeeded in creating an intuitive and robust enough tool that accomplishes this, but that doesn't mean that it's impossible. It's a technical challenge which can be overcome.

I have come across this before, searching for a particular problem but not finding the relevant Github issue in google's search results, which made me search using Github's own search functionality inside the relevant repo to find what I'm looking for. I'm not sure why google wouldn't be indexing Github issues though

One of my favorites articles ever, finally found something that expresses why java is such a boring and inadequate tool for tackling most problems

> It's "Node.js" with a dot. If you spell it "nodejs", that's a serious red flag and you shouldn't be surprised if it gets you automatically discarded -- even by a human reviewer.

Best example of someone I wouldn't want to work for ever

And that's the beauty of it - it's a perfect filter, both ways.

The question is does that really bring something good, either way, or is it just a whim. Some HR check the shape of your ears, and if it doesn't match some patterns, they skip.

perfect filter, both ways

Two ways of three. Some innocent person may accidentally put Node.js in their resume and get hired.

Are you going to add more features to the audio player? The one that's featured on the home page doesn't let you skip to the middle of the the song etc. Thanks for sharing your experience, it's quite useful for all of us to learn.

Yeah that's the embed. The players on the actual songbox pages themselves are nicer. I may pull the embed functionality as I don't think it's used much.

Maybe when songbox scales it will be useful but right now the main use of my product is for tracks that are NOT YET public, so the embed thing was probably a waste of my time lol.

It's amazing how many alternative computing platforms started and died in the 90s.

Strong parallels with JS frameworks recently

I definitely agree with this article and believe that life is short, but it's also a good idea to relax and not worry about it all too much. I think the relaxing and having a piece of mind is undervalued by most people. It helps you have a better quality life however short it is. Remember that the time you spend on worrying about how short it is is also part of your life which you are kind of wasting. Having said that I agree that we should consider the bullshit in our life and cut in favor of things that we really want to do, because at the end life is to short for that.
