I’be been reading schematics for over 30 years, sometimes i need to draw one just to understand an idea that I have. These “real” drawings (like fritzing) hurt my head. They might be useful for the casual tinkerer but anyone who finds electronics interesting should learn the basic symbols.

The weak link is that for “the haves” to have, the “have -nots” are needed. To have or to not is just a comparison, a millionaire needs the poor to be rich and to feel special otherwise when everyone is special nobody is.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop > MenuShowDelay set to 100 (ms) close regedit, reboot.

"Due to my elite programming skills, I figured out how to shave THIRTY SECONDS from my app's startup time. Here's some optimization tips:

1. Remove the sleep(30) statement you added a month ago and forgot about"""

I have an old Win7 workstation, I did so many mods to it at the build time that now I don’t even know how it works.

Lol . You made my day. I was doing that kind of Registry mangling 25 years ago. Brought me good memories, its been a while.

I'm so happy I haven't had to use a Windows machine in more than 10 years.

For me, MacBookPro for coding, Linux Mint for home desktop and Steam + Xbox Live online for gaming. We live in excellent times

Good god.

Why is this set to 400ms?

Any reason it's not 0?

> Why is this set to 400ms?

I can't test it on my current computer, but does the setting affect menus that are triggered by hovering over something?

If so, then 400ms makes more sense, and the real bug is that menus summoned by an explicit click should be exempt from the delay.

The reason for a hover-delay is that it allows someone to flick their mouse to their real destination without triggering a "trap" of content which pops up on the way to obscure their goals.

But why?

Earth can sustain current population many times over, what it cannot however is human greed and stupidity. No worries, as George Carlin said: “Save the earth! Save the earth! The earth is fine, we are the ones who are screwed.”

Yea, the mineral globe of the earth might be fine, we probably won't change it's orbit around the sun, but every other life form on the planet WILL be in great peril.

Like so much else, this assertion that earth will be fine, is total bullshit...

>Decreased knowledge of how to host a gathering.

I have my own saying for this. “Swimming is how you learn to swim”

I noticed the price creeping the last time and just said to me “when it touches the $15 mark it’s gone, it seems to be approaching there so I’ll look for a different platform or just go back to mp3s.

It could have been a good idea if tech corps wouldn’t have demostrated to be such huge POS.

> Plus you really want the average American dumping chemicals in community ground water to grow the biggest pumpkin in the zip code?

Just because it’s out of sight doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Industrial farming and specially animal farming is one of the most polluting industries, subsidized to produce environmental damage, population diseases and animal abuse.

I can see this as a good business move for Anthropic in this case but for the vending machine manufacturers/ operators what would the advantage be besides saying that their machine is AI operated?

It's a good business move for Anthropic all the way down.

There will be no more vending machine manufacturers/operators once Anthropic masters the vending machine manufacturing and operating AI.

Running low on CandyBars is a variation on running low on WorkingVendingMachine.

Does this need an /s tag? I'm increasingly unsure.
