Exactly. It is already wasting enormous amounts of energy for silly inefficient AI nonsense. The price of energy will go up due to high demans and at the same time it also produces a lot of heat. I am not seeing a very optimistic future for mankind...

Or WezTerm which is much more usable and polished than this. I don't think there are any. It is likely just a social media hype.

It's not hype. Here's a comprehensive review of a lot of terminals and Ghostty did very well--"State of Terminal Emulators in 2025: The Errant Champions" [1]

[1]: https://www.jeffquast.com/post/state-of-terminal-emulation-2...

Can ghostty finally search in the scrollback? The last time I tried it it didn't support a freaking search. This is #1 feature I need from any terminal.

No sign of alacritty :(

Have you read the post you linked, and do you understand what it is about?

I use Ghostty because it is a native application, and it looks great on macOS and GNOME. WezTerm, Kitty, and Foot don't do that for me. Foot is great though.

After some update, Ghostty stopped working on Gnome+Mesa on older Intel graphics (IvyBridge). It doesn't really feel native to me if it doesn't run everywhere the toolkit it uses runs. I understand the reasons, but it leaves a sour taste.

They're all native applications.

No, they're not. Don't be pedantic that it's native because it is written in Rust or whatever, that's clearly not what was meant.

There's no single definition of native. If it's clearly not that for you, feel free to say what's the threshold you use.

Using the platform native UI toolkit

Wezterm is an excellent project but it doesn't have native UI chrome like Ghostty does.

Sometimes it helps to use intitle:cats and other advanced search operators https://granwehr.com/blog/youtube-search-operators

As a premium paying user, I am also using Vanced-patched Youtube on android and I have a browser extension for desktop to largely remove this shorts bulls*it. It's just Google being evil, I guess...

It's not only centralization in the sense your website will be down if they are down but it is also a centralized MITM proxy. If you transfer sensitive data like chats over cloudflare-"protected" endpoints, you also allow CF to transparently read and analyze it in plain-text. It must be very easy for state agencies to spy on the internet nowadays, they woukd just ask CF to redirect traffic to them.

Your origin servers are protected now as no one can access them. Thanks for choosing CloudFlare's MITM "protection".

We? I am not using it. I never used it and I will not use it. People should learn how to work with firewall, setup a simple ModSecurity WAF and stop using this bullshit. Almost everything goes through cloudflare and cloudflare also does TLS fronting for websites so basically cloudflare is MITM spying proxy but no one seem to care. :/

>> I hope Apple gets slammed hard by some regulatory body.

They should be slammed by Bluetooth body and forbidden to use bluetooth technology for hurting interoperability.

The Bluetooth body should be nuked from orbit for how much they’ve stalled wireless progress.

Like a sumo wrestler slam??

I'm not opposed

I am not sideloading anything, I am installing apps from f-droid on my device.

Self-host. NextCloud & Ente are great alternatives.
