Searching on it goes to 1995 written post. I have not read this, just sharing: https://paws.kettering.edu/~jhuggins/humor/design.html

This is a really really half-backed article or half-a__ed experience.. Sorry it's getting on my nerves.

Please, do not ever preach someone that if you cannot do something.

This argument makes no sense. Just because I can’t implement new plumbing in my house myself doesn’t mean I can’t complain about my neighbor doing a shit job with his. This board is a Tower of Babel with lots of pointless languages - just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

This is a good thought and idea. I agree.

We need to step back and feel the bliss of small things that happens around that we miss to notice every day in life.

As it says above, don't put yourself under pressure on doing something. Just try to be aware about the things that you do every day. Taking a bath, having a meal -> Take a deep breathe do it slowly and enjoy it.

Then slowly slowly and eventually, you will come up with new perspective on how to approach life the way you want it to be. You will notice internally when this phase happens. All the very best!

This is a sort of response that makes the conversation stink and as well has no optimal solution would come out.

  > I know that some people
I know that this writing will make no change in your bigoted perception but at-least it might to others. So, I'm writing it.

Addiction is NOT a choice, and it is a form of chemical imbalance that happens in our complex brain that makes the person get into addiction with any substance. It could be said like any other mental health illnesses. AND when the person who got addicted doesn't get enough support and the compassion (likely not from you) to the way where they can be able to stay away from their addiction, there is a possibility that such person could go worse.

> Addiction is NOT a choice

Drinking alcohol is a choice, so is sticking the needle in your arm.

> likely not from you

I support programs for treatment for addicts. Successful treatment, however, involves the addicts accepting responsibility. Nobody ever said recovery is easy. It isn't. Compassion is in order to help them recover.

But ultimately it's still up to them to make the choice.

That is fine. Doing "practical" meditation and "real" meditation per se is not far-fetched.

All we need to be is with awareness. When you start feeling that - then that is what I would say meditation.

I walk, I do slow walking every night reflecting on things that had happened in the day or just walk in silence. That helps me to ease my pain and have more space to think what is important at the moment and make decisions.

In other words, this is also related to the original comment which says about "patience". It doesn't happen all at once, practicing with patience is the key for progress.

Good design is more subtle and sensitive and on purpose.

Each and every software user-interfaces has it's own constraints. It can be solved with a goal in mind that this software has to be accessible first without accumulating much of user's time to get themselves learn about on how to use it.

It's a bit trickiest thing, that that we take UI design as an art-form like a painting. It is different, good painting will evoke user's emotions in many ways. Whereas software UI design doesn't, instead it is there just to get the functionalities clear and concise for the user to do their work. That being said, UI design is an art-form in itself if we try to master it.

I have met many people from Auroville (or maybe Aurovillians as some would say).

I have a mixed feeling about Auroville too like some other comments here. I have visited couple times. But never actually got what they are trying to do. This is another part.

But I want to mention, TBH: It is like ANY OTHER ASHRAMS or communal living, I would say. Even to the one I visit often. People are different, sometimes they are nice and sometimes they behave downright silly and rude.

That said, it could be a practice if you take it that way :)

They are much more precious for you in the long run if you are into spiritual practice.

It's like Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo puts it "Instead of seeing other people as an obstacle to our path, we recognize that they are the path. That learning on how to deal skillfully especially with unskilfuled people is how we learn, how we grow and how to begin to mature."

The fact that you are acknowledging what you are feeling about others when they are in a miserable situation and the empathy that you show to them is a gift.

You don't need to research about this more! Just try to do what you can do to others :)

If you help others' you help yourself.

Indeed. And the words that Apple puts to explain about their products is going really numb.

They should change their ambiguous tone and show the real progress in these mac.

I can absolutely get a better laptop at a reasonable price than these products and the features that offers and be more productive.

I drink around 7 to 8 times a day. People say it's bad, but who cares.. I'm just enjoying my coffee and a good smoke everyday.
