I believe trust, like many other qualities, is a spectrum, not a dichotomy.

PC-Man and Paratrooper were the very first PC games I ever played.

Also CAT.EXE…

And DIGGER.

One word: SOPWITH

Also STRYKER.

Yup, like wanting to put what's basically a rootkit in the Linux kernel only so they can play some stupid video games, that are popular right now but will be forgotten in a few years or less.

I expected an idiotic thing like "67" or something similar, but it's literally the term "rage bait". Not sure if feeling trolled or amused.

> Before the 360, consoles didn’t really do anything on their own. They were passive devices that existed to play whatever cartridge or disc you put in.

How is that a bad thing? Maybe I'm showing my age here, but I believe that's what a video game console should be. Put in cartridge, turn it on, start playing. Sure, when they moved to optical discs you had to wait a little longer, but it was no big deal.

If you want to do PC-like stuff, just use a PC. Personally, I lost all interest in consoles when they all turned into weird proprietary PCs.

Apparently, when you go to this site from HN, you also get a file called "Human_fart.wav". Reminds me of JWZ's famous hatred of HN.

So, basically:

Firefox users: "Stop cramming AI into my browser!"

Mozilla: "How 'bout I do, anyway?"

From the blog page at https://blog.mozilla.org/en/firefox/ai-window/

it looks like it's an explicit option to open a window with AI features and without, so you get a choice to enable the features if you want them

While I certainly agree with the sentiment, this would only work in an ideal world, or in a small community like the early Web was. In the world we all live in, people, companies and governments deceive, stalk and steal, and you can be bullied, ostracized, fired, fined, jailed or even killed just for something you wrote.
