I love his videos. They are not tutorials and so do not need to be concise and to the point. They are video essays from which I learn many things in a good amount of detail, and i have a fun time doing it because he writes entertaining scripts.

Wow it took a lot of effort to get through this one. The entire interaction with the other teacher was incredibly cringeworthily reported. I can't imagine anyone writing in this tone in 2023 and expecting a positive reaction from readers.

Yeah, very telling that he felt the need to resort to the old trope of "women don't want anything to do with stinky computer geeks." I'm shocked to see someone was writing like this even ten years ago. I would feel so gross knowing that this guy was working in the same building as me.

Brings back so many fond memories. I was 5 when my family computer had Bonzi Buddy, and we loved it. We installed it every time we had to have our Windows drive reformatted (it happened quite frequently, as you can guess from our fondness for installing malware).

But hey, it used to sing songs and dance and stuff, and my mom could make it tell me to brush my teeth.

I'm new to reading paywalled articles and the HN FAQs said it was ok to ask for help in the comments. Can someone please help me out? I really want to read this article.

Apple News, it's the cheapest way to get the WSJ, or subscribe to WSJ on their website.
