Nope, that doesn't make any sense. Keep the shops open now and infection grows exponentially. Overwhelm the ICU capacity = MORE people will die. MORE people dead = less consumption = less people paying rent, etc.
Agreed. Honestly, who is going to take a trip around the world now? Even if all the borders were open. No one is going to risk getting stuck in some foreign country.
There is a better solution: taking care of people, isolating the vulnerable and not allowing others to get sick unnecessarily rather than letting 120-170 million die.
Unlike all other times before, our economy is over-leveraged like never seen before. The COVID-19 shut down of main street mom-and-pop stores will trigger a snowball effect onto wall street. However, cutting rates to zero and Trump throwing his last cards in will only kick up a temporary fix. In reality it is adding more fuel to the fire by further extending the leveraging, and thereby, volatility of the market, until this all crash into a giant complete free fall.
So disappointing. I really wanted to think he was just misquoted. But the attempt to cover up after-the-fact just made it worse -- "Hey, ladies, don't ask for a raise coz you should trust the system. But oh, btw, the system is broken, we should fix it." Either the system is working or not. Make up your mind before asking ppl to trust it.
Agreed, but I'd argue that striving for perfection in every detail is a bit of first world problem, and it also assumes availability of infinite resources. Starve a man for enough days, then give him a steak on a stick and I'll guarantee that he'll be happy just to tear the meat apart with his teeth caveman style, forget the formalities of napkin, plate and utensils. Same goes for software, esp. startups, where the first challenge is to get to having something that will do a right job however imperfectly, than the wrong job, however perfectly.
I'm sorry for not having won the web for the google search on 'experiment', but I actually believe that this team is going to succeed where I have not.
I believe they are on the right track, and that they can grow into a variety of spaces/tools/utilities/education/information systems etc., especially if, as they have done so far, they "stay true" and focus on the bits that make for high quality investigations.
Awesome to see crowd funding getting leveraged for such great potential. The team's been at this for a while and making good progress. Great to see the new name!
