Envoy (https://envoy.com) | Software Eng (Product, Backend) | San Francisco, CA (ONSITE)

I'm hiring engineers for a Special Projects team to rapidly iterate and ship experimental products with the goal to define what the future of workplaces will be (think wayfinding, access control, hospitality, visitor/employee experience, etc.). We'll be working with some of the most impactful companies around the world.

Send your resume to jamel [@] envoy.com if you're interested, it's going to be a lot of fun!

Thanks! I filled out their “Early Access Program” form a couple weeks ago but haven’t heard anything back.

Using the phone’s camera to pinpoint a person’s location does seem like it would work well, but getting the image data of all these building’s floors (as well as responding to changes within the floors) seems like a huge challenge

One of my first projects was a clock that displayed the time as a hex color (#hh:mm:ss) https://www.reddit.com/r/webdev/s/nvC62sw6cP

It was actually surprisingly easy to do. There were pre-built 'plugins' (hooks) for almost every native API you could imagine and it was really 'plug & play'. Overall, I had almost zero issues with installing and building with Capacitor (there was only one real issue, where an official plugin didn't support the behavior I was looking for, so I switched to a different 'community-made' one). Apple also reviewed and accepted to app for sale of the app store in less than 48 hours (which was something I was a little scared about, since it's a PWA under the hood simply wrapped in Capacitor's runtime)

That sounds really appealing... I might have to try it.
