If they’re not trying FSD 14.156.891111 they wouldn’t believe how great it is

Yes it’s a trope but like I said just do the test drives and if that doesn’t change your mind let me know

My first experience was with cursor and my entire team went through a honeymoon period before it got kind of sidelined. Average usage was giving an agent a couple shots at a problem but usually solving it ourselves ultimately. Internal demos were lackluster. Team was firmware though so might not be a great topic for GenAI yet.

You can also just use google family link, make someone else your parent, and lock down the phone. I have a "dumb phone" that is just a refurbished Samsung s22 I bought. Only supports phone calls, messaging, and some credit cards basically.

How is being able to make phone calls prevent you from being tracked? You're still going to be constantly pinging those cell towers with a unique identifier.

Billionaires tend to have multiple properties in multiple states/countries. This is more a residency issue and probably low friction for them to change states personally. The thing holding back would be where their business and employees are located.

This only works if stocks go up, up, and up. Otherwise they will have to realize gains at some point to pay off the loans.

I don't get why we have to jump all the way to a wealth tax, could they not just force asset backed loans to trigger a tax? This seems way more targeted and we won't have people assessing what everyone is worth. I think it would avoid some unnecessary precedent setting. They could put the impetus on the billionaire taking the loan to state what the assets are worth and related gains.

While I think I actually support this, does capitalism not cease to function if you put barriers in place to prevent the growth of capital. Think trying to get that passed would be even harder than a wealth tax.

One should ask if the forever growth is actually sustainable. How much further can we optimize life for the sake of perpetual growth?

I don't think most people on either side of this issue can speak to the nuances of immigration law.

I think people are forgetting that ICE has been around for decades at this point and some if not most of the stuff they do is routine(Not including some recent enforcement behaviors). I agree with you that is not necessarily bad that the government is using its own data fed in to a vendor tool to enforce immigration.

Implying that efficient agriculture is destroying the planet is a wild take

Is it not?

I don't think tractors are destroying the planet, no

First, it's not destroying the planet, because the planet will chug along just fine, but it's making the planet inhabitable for us.

Dynamite is an efficiency tool, but in the wrong hand, it's used in ways that are not good.

And, greedy people using the efficiency tools without caring for the environment are devastating the planet's ecosystem, e.g. Amazon Rain forest

And in similar vein, our "Tech bros" are using technology for their satisfy their greed, which is resulting in loss of our privacy, democracy, and force fed of their agenda.

I think people approach it wrong. The framing of solving our loneliness is kind of transactional in a way. Good relationships are not transactional. You got to work on yourself to be curious about others. If it’s genuine, people will reciprocate and relationships develop. You also won’t care as much about putting yourself out there, because the act of getting to know someone is what you like. Greatest thing that ever happened for my social life was hearing Ted Lasso quote “Be curious, not judgemental”.

He’s providing starlink for free to Iranians right now afaik.

Fair point. And he provided free coverage for a long while with Ukraine [0].

I'm tempted to speculate on reasons, but I think I'll just leave it and admit that yes, he did a good thing here.
