“You’re opinion isn’t valid if you aren’t willing to spend money it.”

This way of thinking is so out of touch it hurts. Not everyone is some tech bro making bank and spending their free time doing crypto and option trades. The commenter has a valid belief that doesn’t need to be belittled just because you may not agree with it.

You would rather this type of person drive a 2 ton vehicle? “Well people are going to have poor judgement” isn’t really a good argument against anything.

I don't think this is comparable. People driving a two ton vehicle have to be licensed, which means they have a general understanding of the rules they're supposed to follow and a general mentality that they should follow them. More experienced cyclists are similar (not in the license, but mentality). A lot of amateur cyclists don't have this mentality on the bike when they start out.

The reality in my area is most people on e-bikes are aged. They already have a lifetimes experience of driving and cycling on normal bikes.

I'd rather they drive a machine that is fast enough to keep up fully with traffic, outfitted with proper safety mechanisms like ABS and turn signals, and wear protective DOT-approved safety gear.

Motorcycles are not that much more expensive but they're much safer. The only reason that ebiking isn't killing people is because it's new and rare, but when that changes it's obviously worse for people to be sitting on the edge of the road at around 30mph with nothing other than a cycling helmet and airpods.

> Motorcycles are not that much more expensive

What's weird to me is that motorcycles can be had for cheaper than many e-bikes despite the e-bike being a much simpler machine, less range and far slower.

For example, a Kawasaki Ninja 400 has MSRP in the $5200-$5800 range, a nice small local commuter bike but still very capable. Many nicer e-bikes are quite a bit more expensive than that.

I don’t understand what exactly you’re mad at the guy about? He made an ultra-usable textbox… millions of people use it every day instinctively because it’s a great tool. You can’t crucify him because of your own personal qualms and completely ignore the flip side of the coin.

I'm not mad, just looking for retrospective insight. I don't know about you, but i've learnt great lessons by making mistakes, and i've found historical examples like Albert Einstein's reflections to be eye-opening.

Everybody does mistakes, and i'm not here to throw a stone. But i'm looking for lessons to be shared and learnt.

Your argument is the same as “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people”. It’s still something with potential to cause a great deal of harm and should be regulated.

> Why would Zuckerberg intentionally want to fail at this task and have people hate his company?

Nobody wants to fail at anything. Doesn’t stop people from failing all the time. Nobody wants to get fired but if you suck at your job you get fired all the same.

You’re approaching this way too logically without considering the social aspects. Stop trying to think like a robot.

> Your argument is the same as “Guns don’t kill people. People kill people”.

Sort of, the argument is more like "Computers don't kill people. People with computers kill people by starting revolutions, committing online crimes, etc. Also, people with computers do lots of non lethal and helpful stuff as well too."

Facebook and mass social media are like that computer. Lots of benefits, lots of detriments as well. Doesn't mean you should cancel the computer.

You should take a picture with better lighting. Really makes your product look bad on first impression.

No. It’s theoretical vs actual.

(I’ve never heard of the expression before so I found it amusing)

Most dealerships will deliver a car if you ask.

This website is an echo chamber many times more niche than other social websites. It’s mainly tech nerds with very similar beliefs and backgrounds. Opinons here, as with most websites, should be taken with a grain of salt.

Very insensitive comment
