>All beds have at lest 2m

As another tall person here, the length of the matress/bed is not as critical as what comes when the bed ends. 2m matresses with a wall/bedend that is massive is way more umfortable for a tall person then a 1,9m matress with 20cm of air behind it.

>just like in aviation business class

Yeah but im not flying lay-down business class when i want to go Hamburg-Vienna because the trip is only 90mins. I fly lay-down business when going trans-atlantic or to asia.

morals dont come from religion they manifest out of the zeitgeist

what did they edit? im honestly curious as in my perception bandcamp is something that i get a link to from a band and that i then use to buy music. have problably spent a couple of 100 € over the years there.

It's not that hard to visit the Bandcamp home page and see a ton of editorial content. I've spent thousands, if that's relevant.

i just did and almost missed it. it looks like ads for albums except there is a small "feature" string. i'm honestly not sure i ever visited this page before. always went directly to the band site.

to understand my POV better, my usecase is: - band that i like and follow (mostly newsletter, some social media, rarely friends that mention it drecty) sends an update "hey new stuff, click here" - i click the link, listen a bit, buy and download

I understand perfectly your POV, but it's not the experience of all of Bandcamp's users, particularly artists who release there, DJs, or fans of niche genres. The loss of the editorial team is huge to these groups.

whatever happened to flattr?

germany has a big tradition of eating raw minced pork (mettbrötchen - bread roll with raw minced pork, diced onions salt and pepper). and its perfectly safe because the food safety laws are so strict. its so safe that even gas station variations of this are very popular

if you need managed k8s on german or other european servers without us companies involved there is OVH.

Might go up in flames, though, and literally

Context: OVHcloud's data center fire: One year on, what do we know? - https://www.datacenterdynamics.com/en/opinions/ovhclouds-dat...

And Scaleway. (I have no experience using Kubernetes on Scaleway, I use their Elastic Metal, Managed DNS and some other smaller offerings)

We've been running Scaleway for years (Both VMs and managed k8s).

There are quirks from time to time, their disk system has been nightmarish for a while, but they've recently had a major overhaul there and we didn't really have any major complaints since. It is very decent for the price, I would say.

We looked at OVH's managed kubernetes offering but it is hideously expensive compared to, say, DigitalOcean/Vultr,

I thought they had the same deal as DO - control plane is free and you pay for nodes at the standard rate. Have I missed something?

I am considering moving our DO to ovh mainly because DO lacks fine grained IAM

its not the cheapest but its EU only which makes selling your stuff to european mid size companies much easier ;)

Haven't tested their offer, but also Vultr and Scaleway have managed Kubernetes service.

isnt vultr a US company?

Ah true! I was using some of their European locations and I forgot :P

Also TransIP (since a short while).

also there is IONOS

in germany we had and have an app for that which was founded before uber: mytaxi (now FreeNow)

it gets worse when you factor in translation problems.

lets take google/recaptcha/hcaptcha image captchas. english: "click on the images with bikes" this could mean motorbikes or bicycles in english.

in german it says "klicken sie die bilder mit den fahrrädern". fahrrad meaning bicycle exklusively! a motorbike would be "motorrad". then the images will show no bicycles so you skip - wrong - so you click on the motorbikes - wrong - oh there is one image that shows a (german) "motoroller" (a scooter) maybe they mean that? click - correct

this goes on an on and on. they have so many problems with their translations its infurating. i stopped filling them out when not absolutely necessary

wonder how this affects the models that are trained on the data generated by these capcha's? will german motor cyclists be less safe because of this

Hamburg here, same. Got 2 MRIS in the last 5 years and both could have been the next business day if it would have fit my schedule. and all that as a "kassenpatient"

dont have to refine. but it needs multiple answers as the code is too long. but i have managed a 3 or 4 response tetris clone in HTML/JS
