Ha! Memories from 25 years ago when you had to run Windoze for your audio and sometimes chess software.

More than 25 years.

The first thing that it played to me was Crockett's Theme.

I spent the first few seconds looking at the description, which said something else, and saying to myself "No, that's definitely Crockett's Theme.".

Haha, nice. I searched and there’s one keygen that also played Crockett’s Theme, but at least it credited it. Then another one I shuffled to was the theme from Airwolf.

These are pretty much staples for any synthesizer music collection that ever was. There's going to be an Axel F in there somewhere, too. And possibly Chariots of Fire.

I was amused that Crockett's Theme was the very first one played to me. Alas, I didn't note the sompletely unrelated title before closing the page, and have no clue now where it is in the collection.

What MOD producers at my high school used in the mid 90's:

I'm trying to get this to work with ollama. I'm on Arch Linux, fish shell, new to ollama, and only very rarely used pipx. I get:

raise ValueError("OPENAI_BASE_URL and OPENAI_API_KEY must be set. Try running `zev --setup`.") ValueError: OPENAI_BASE_URL and OPENAI_API_KEY must be set. Try running `zev --setup`

even when I run (for example) set -x ZEV_USE_OLLAMA 1; zev 'show all files and all permissions'

creator here. It pulls env variables from a file in your appstorage directory. I need to change this in a future release to make it cleaner, since I don't think i like it intermingling with env variables.

That said, did you run `zev --setup`?

Why are you using env variables when you don't pull them primarily from the process env?

I’m debating changing it. I do pull in env vars to use as default values (e.g. you already have an API key set). But I might transition way from env variables.

btw, feel free to open an issue on github :)

Looks cool. I loved Ultima II and III as a kid. Even wrote some text walk-throughs back then. Played them on Apple //e and //c, the last Apple products I ever owned (or ever will). I also ditched all Windows about 25 years ago.

I suppose to play on Linux though, I would need to run some Wine setup huh?

DOSBox if you want to run them locally, or a web browser if you want to play them immediately: https://archive.org/details/msdos_Ultima_III_-_Exodus_1983

The 4:3 thing as you say. I've been wanting a tablet just for displaying sheet music. I asked some forum once but was told pretty much the same, only Apple. Why?

Android manufacturers not understanding market.

When your largest competitor for 10+ years has 4:3 screens, why not copy?

People got sued last time they copied apple's rectangle

4:3 screens preceded Apple iPad by many years, e.g. IBM Thinkpads.

Great post, thanks, also 'duf' was new to me, like it.

One question: I have 2 ntfs drives and they show as type "fuseblk". They don't show now with the new "mount" alias. I tried removing "fuse" from the list but no change. How can I bring these back to displaying when I enter "mount"?

Thanks for making this, just gave it a try. You might be able to work with the chess.com people in a way that might generate some $$. Or, better, work with the lichess folks (not for $$). I'd like to be working on something like this. Meanwhile, I think I'll run it some. Holes in my tactics especially in blitz showing up too often at the local chess Meetup.

@chrisco23 can I trouble you to send me an email at vince@chessrapid.com?

I second the notion.

The intricacies and legal details here are a little beyond the scope of my understanding. Medium was never much, and when they turned into a popup-serving nagware, that was the end of them for me.
