Schadenfreude

Nah, that's delight in someone else's misfortune. This is delight that the misfortune wasn't yours, which is slightly different.

4 years of German and I still don't quite "get" it :^) TY!

We have a saying:

You know how you measure eternity?

When you finish learning German.

Katastrophenverursachererleichterung

Katastrophenverursacherverlagerungserleichterung

Even better

Not quite, that’s more like taking pleasure in the misfortune of someone else. It’s close, but the specific relief bit that it is not _your_ misfortune is not captured

Internettet er vist ikke så stort :-)

Fætter! Hvor genialt at se dig her. :)

No logging in to Cloudflare Dash, no passing Turnstile (their CAPTCHA Replacement Solution) on third-party websites not proxied by Cloudflare, the rest that are proxied throwing 500 Internal server error saying it's Cloudflare's fault…

Feels like half the internet is down.

Couldn't find the video on that blog post - for those who prefer to learn via video the announcement page with the recording is preferred. I find Cloudflare a bit disorganised with this launch, there's multiple things going on - recording, blog posts, documentation and each has something the others don't.

"Amazon says it never considered listing import charges on main site - report"

https://www.bbc.com/news/live/cpvrrre4zlkt?post=asset%3A0240...

Yes, Amazon is denying it though it would make sense.

“The team that runs our ultra low cost Amazon Haul store has considered the idea of listing import charges on certain products,” the company said in a statement. “Teams discuss ideas all the time. This was never a consideration for the main Amazon site and nothing has been implemented on any Amazon properties.”

Should probably get an [updated], since the submission title now seems inaccurate after Amazon clarification.

Amazon (used to?) list import charges when I import stuff into my country. It's surprising that they wouldn't the other way.

Trump made them an offer they couldn't refuse.

Using D1 in production for over an year on multiple projects - I can confirm response times to simple queries regularly take 400ms and beyond. On top there's constant network, connection and a plethora of internal errors. I too don't recommend it for production unless you're working on a toy project.

I recently found https://github.com/tekumara/typos-lsp that uses https://github.com/crate-ci/typos Plenty of GH stars so likely a solid user base. Works great in NeoVim with the built-in apellchecker.

"apellchecker" is actually a great name for a spellchecker

EDIT: resolved.

Okay, the other day it was Claude across providers, today it's v0.dev. AI has become so integrated in my personal flow that an outage literally causes me great anxiety. I hadn't realised how dependant on our new AI overlords I've become.
